Clear registered traveler program ceases operations at Indianapolis International

INDIANAPOLIS—At 11 p.m. (PST) on June 22, 2009, the Clear registered traveler program ceased its operations in Indianapolis and across the U.S.

According to the company’s Web site (www.flyclear.com), Clear’s parent company, Verified Identity Pass, Inc., has been unable to negotiate an agreement with its creditors that would allow it to continue its operations.

Verified Identity Pass, Inc. provides biometric system solutions for airports, airlines, travel agents, and business travelers in the United States. It was founded in 2003 and is based in New York.

The company offered a registered traveler program called “Clear” that enabled airports to provide enhanced customer service to their passengers while addressing security concerns and allowing for resource allocation at checkpoints.

Clear members were pre-screened and provided with a card that allowed them to access designated airport security “fast lanes.” The program was available at a number of major U.S. airports, including Orlando, Atlanta, Washington, DC, Boston, Cincinnati, Denver, Los Angeles, and Salt Lake City.

Clear members who have questions can e-mail administration@verifiedidpass.com. Company information lists their last known phone as 212.332.6304.
