QR codes added to IND Terminal Garage and Economy Lot
Guests can scan codes to receive email reminder of their parking location
INDIANAPOLIS – Even those who don’t have a photographic memory now can have a picture perfect reminder of where they parked thanks to Quick Response (QR) codes that have been installed at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND). The QR codes are located in each shelter of the Economy Lot and at the first pillar of each row of public parking in the Terminal Garage (levels 2-5).
Guests can take advantage of the new convenience by scanning the code closest to their parking location with a smartphone that has a QR-reading app that integrates with an e-mail program. Many such apps are available free on multiple smartphone platforms.
When a guest scans a QR code, an email prepopulated with an automated address and content will open. After sending the email, guests will receive a reply indicating the corresponding level, side, and row in the Terminal Garage or shelter in the Economy Lot.
The QR codes are the latest in a series of enhancements to the airport’s parking program, including the recent addition of real-time shuttle bus tracking for passengers utilizing the Economy Lot and the popular parkIND Plus® loyalty program that allows guests to earn free parking when parking at IND.
