Executive session notice
An executive session of the Human Resources Committee of the board of the Indianapolis Airport Authority will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 in the Authority’s boardroom (Room 11T.413), in the main terminal building at the Indianapolis International Airport, 7800 Col. H. Weir Cook Memorial Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46241. The purpose of this session will be to receive information about or interview prospective employees [IC § 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(5)] and to discuss job performance evaluations of individual employees [IC 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(9)].
Quartet from the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra to welcome travelers at IND
Passengers at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) will be treated to a live performance by a brass quartet from the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday, October 2 from 4 – 5 p.m. The quartet will be comprised of trombonists Jim Beckel, Blake Schlabach, and Jared Rodin; and Tony Kniffen, tuba. Their performance will include “London Bridge is All Jazzed Up”, Gabrieli’s “Canzona per Sonare #2”, Serocki’s “Suita Na 4 Puzoni” and Bill Reichenbach’s arrangement of “Scarborough Faire,” among other selections.

IND gives passengers a fall break on Terminal Garage rates
Discounted daily rate of only $14 applies to fifth-floor garage stays of seven days or more between October 4 and October 27
It’s almost time for fall break at many area school systems, and rates at the Terminal Garage are falling in the latest parking promotion at IND. Garage stays of seven days or more that begin between October 4 and October 27 of this year will be priced at only $14 per day. No coupons are necessary; the reduced pricing will be calculated automatically upon payment. Customers must park on the fifth floor in order to receive the special rate. The promotion is not valid with any other offer and cannot be used for a stay that includes earned parkIND Plus free parking days.

The long-awaited IND Service Plaza has opened at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND). Operations began today at the Circle K convenience store and 24-hour Shell fueling services that are on site.

Four-year improvement program delivers CALEA accreditation for Indianapolis Airport Police Department

The Indianapolis Airport Police Department (APD) has become just the fourteenth law enforcement agency in Indiana and only the tenth airport police department nationwide to be currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). The accreditation follows a thorough review by outside inspectors of APD policies and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

IND to check aircraft noise levels as part of regularly scheduled update to FAA Noise Compatibility Plan
IND’s FAA-approved process of reducing residential noise impact is reviewed every five years
The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) Noise Compatibility Plan (NCP), which was initiated in 1987, will soon complete its latest five-year update cycle as mandated by Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 150 requirements. The NCP noise monitoring will take place in late August in areas around the Indianapolis International Airport (IND). The most recent update was accepted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 2008.
