New Year Brings New Restaurants at Indy Airport

Hoosier favorites added to lineup, others renovating to better serve traveling public

INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 5, 2023) – Some of Hoosiers’ favorite restaurant brands will be opening at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) this year, while some will expand as air travel continues to rebound.

As 2022 came to a close, the list of new restaurants that opened at the Indy airport grew. Shake Shack made its eagerly anticipated debut in the fall, along with the new Pacers Courtside Club, Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream, Bento Sushi, The Farmer’s Market featuring Indiana Grown, Tinker Coffee Café, and Ben’s Soft Pretzels.

Now, as 2023 rolls in, Harry & Izzy’s will complete its expansion with a larger dining room and bar to make more room for airport travelers to experience that signature St. Elmo’s shrimp cocktail. While Harry & Izzy’s is still operational with a limited menu, the new expansion is expected to open in spring 2023. Chick-fil-A will also undergo a renovation to make upgrades. In January, Chick-fil-A will temporarily close with an expected reopening date in spring 2023 as well.

A local favorite, HotBox Pizza, will make its airport debut this spring in Civic Plaza. Circle City Beer Garden also plans to open in Civic Plaza, offering an expanded food menu along with signature craft beers, wines and cocktails. The Tap will open a 2,000 square foot location in Concourse B with a robust menu. Both are anticipated to open this summer.

“This growing list of restaurants is the result of intentional work IND has been doing since before the pandemic to give Indy travelers the food and beverage options they want,” said Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority. “Our current lineup is a winning combination of local favorites and nationally recognized brands that deliver a diverse and expanded dining experience here at the Indy airport.”

Airport guests can also take advantage of the new IND Order Now service that lets travelers order their favorite Indy airport food from participating restaurants ahead of time and pick it up at the restaurant.

“This is a great option to fly past the line with express pickup,” said Rodriguez.

As the Best Airport in North America for 10 years in a row, the Indy airport provides an award-winning customer experience for travelers, and it’s committed to enhancing that experience for decades to come. Through a multi-year Concessions Refresh Program, the airport is elevating the shopping and dining experience at the airport highlighting local favorites and national brands.
