New Frontier Nonstop to Indy Arrives in Time for Race Weekend
Race fans from Raleigh-Durham arrive on new Frontier route to Indy
INDIANAPOLIS (May 26, 2022) – A new nonstop flight with Frontier Airlines will arrive in Indy today from Raleigh-Durham (RDU) – just in time to deliver race fans ahead of the Indy 500 race weekend and launch Frontier’s inaugural flight to a new destination out of the Indianapolis International Airport (IND).
“This is yet another new route that demonstrates the confidence our airline partners, like Frontier, have in the Indianapolis market – and we’re proud to welcome race fans from the Raleigh-Durham area arriving just in time for the Indy 500 race weekend, and kicking off the first wave of summer travel with our 44thnonstop destination,” said Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority.
Passengers arriving on the inbound new Frontier nonstop flight today will be greeted with a splash of Indy 500 fanfare throughout the terminal, with various racing displays, an INDYCAR front and center ready for photo-ops, a pop-up retail shop, and art and music to create a festive atmosphere to rev up motorsports fans.
The seasonal nonstop flight will leave out of Indy twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. Frontier currently provides nonstop flights to Denver (DEN), Las Vegas (LAS), Orlando (MCO), Ft. Myers (RSW), and Cancun (CUN) from Indianapolis.
The new nonstop flight provides an easy and affordable option for Hoosiers to get away to the beautiful Southeast just in time for summer. The Raleigh-Durham area features some of the best tourism experiences, including museums, nature preserves and a thriving retail and food-and-beverage scene.
