Indy Airport to Host Holiday Music Series
Top local Indy talent to perform daily through Dec. 24
INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 18, 2019) – The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) will host a holiday music series throughout December, featuring some of Indy’s best bands and performers – including MGS DJs, Two Girls and Band, Kimberly Crowder, Rosie Inman, Jan Aldridge Clark, the Capitol City Chorus, and a plethora of local area school groups.
“Music gives magic to the holiday season, and brings us together in song and fellowship,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez. “We invite everyone to join us at IND through December, where holiday decorations light up Civic Plaza and music from a variety of Indy’s diverse talent will ring in the magic of the season.”
The public is invited to attend these free music performances on the following dates, in addition to holiday tunes from MGS DJs throughout each day from now until Dec. 24 starting at 11 a.m.
Dec. 18 – The 60 Voice fourth and fifth graders from Rosa Parks Elementary School will share their vocal gifts with airport guests starting at 11 a.m., following the 16-piece Indianapolis Clarinet Ensemble at 12 p.m. and the Lebanon Middle School choir at 3 p.m. Additionally, 2016 Emmis winners from William Henry Burkhart Elementary performing at 5:30 p.m., followed by Douglas MacArthur Elementary Spotlight Singers – also 2016 Emmis winners – playing at 6:30 p.m.
Dec. 19 – Kimberly Crowder will charm Indy airport guests with her holiday vocals and piano talents at 11 a.m., followed by the Decatur Central High School Goldenaires, a 44-voice show choir, at 5:30 p.m. The Capitol City Chorus, a 30-voice women choir, will round out the evening beginning at 6 p.m.
Dec. 20 – Two Girls and a Band perform at 11 a.m., followed by the talented Kenny Fary on piano at 1 p.m., and Rosie Inman will close the show with vocals and guitar starting at 5 p.m.
Dec. 23 and 24 – Blair Clark will rock the holiday season starting at 11 a.m., and Jeff Reed will spread holiday cheer with his piano performance at 5 p.m., both on Dec. 23. Jan Aldridge Clark will set the tone for the night before Christmas starting at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24.
Throughout the holidays, passengers will be able to enjoy decorations that span the holiday season and make all travelers feel welcomed throughout the terminal. Also, passengers can snap a photo next to the –NDY sign as they take off for their travels or welcome home loved ones.
