Indy Airport Provides Update on Spring Break Travel
Passengers strongly encouraged to arrive two hours before boarding time
The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is providing a Spring Break 2026 update and briefing sheet for Indiana media regarding air travel from March 25 – April 13, 2026. The briefing sheet linked below provides updated travel data for news stories, crucial alerts and tips travelers need to know prior to coming to the Indy airport for their Spring Break 2026 trip.
Key points to share include special travel notices for this season, high traffic dates, anticipated passenger traffic, reminders about Real ID and TSA ConfirmedID, and general airport parking and travel tips.
TSA Update
At this point in time, the Indy airport is not among those where ICE agents will be assigned to assist TSA.
As for the status of TSA security checkpoints, IND has experienced a slight increase in wait times; however, this is primarily due to higher passenger volumes associated with spring-break travel, rather than the partial government shutdown.
While TSA has reported some call-offs, staffing impacts at IND remain below the national average. (TSA call-offs at IND are at 4 - 8% on average, compared to the 10% national average.)
The Indianapolis Airport Authority remains in close communication with its TSA partners and continues to offer support as needed to ensure travelers have a smooth and pleasant experience at IND.
