Cochran appointed to Indianapolis Airport Authority board of directors
INDIANAPOLIS—Mary Moses Cochran has been appointed by Mayor Gregory A. Ballard to serve as a member of the Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) board.
Cochran’s appointment took effect April 13, 2010. Her term of office is set to expire December 31, 2011.
With an extensive career in government affairs and politics, Cochran previously served as director of media relations and government affairs at American Trans Air (ATA) from 1991 until 2002. She served as campaign manager for the Indiana Republican Legislative Races in 1990 and held key staff positions for Vice President Dan Quayle in Washington, DC from 1988-89.
Cochran was president of the Indiana Beverage Alliance in 1987. Prior to that, she was in Washington serving as Indiana liaison and campaign manager for U.S. Senator Dan Quayle and in addition to serving as deputy liaison to the vice president for the Reagan Bush ’84 election campaign in 1983.
Well-known in the Indianapolis community, Cochran is past chair and present board member for the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. A member of the White River State Park Development Commission, she is also a member of the board for the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce PAC, The Orchard School, and Lugar Excellence in Public Service. She also serves on St. Vincent’s Hospital Advisory Committee and co-chaired the Blankenbaker for Congress campaign.
Cochran holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Vermont, where she was a Phi Beta Kappa and graduated cum laude.
