Chick-fil-A location opens at IND

Restaurant joins IND’s award-winning concessionaire program with location in Civic Plaza

INDIANAPOLIS – A major name in the restaurant world joins the ranks of the award- winning concessionaire program at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) today with the opening of a Chick-fil-A location in IND’s Civic Plaza. The restaurant will be open from 4 a.m. – 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

According to Chick-fil-A, “Perfecting a recipe his mother used in her Atlanta boarding house, Chick-fil-A Founder S. Truett Cathy first served his boneless breast-of-chicken sandwich, pressured cooked and served on a buttered bun with two crucial pickles, at his Dwarf Grill restaurant, which opened in 1946 in Hapeville, Ga. It was the signature menu item when the first Chick-fil-A restaurant opened in 1967 inside an Atlanta mall. Though joined by many other menu options over the years, the Chick-fil-A sandwich remains the centerpiece of the menu as the chain has grown to more than 1,857 restaurants now in 41 states including Washington D.C.”

Chick-fil-A will offer IND visitors additional choices and enrich the airport’s shopping and dining program, which is dedicated to enhancing the customer experience by appealing to the diverse tastes of the millions of people who travel through IND each year. By featuring a mix of nationally known brands, such as Chick fil-A, and outlets with Indiana roots, IND’s concessionaire program has received multiple awards and played an important role in delivering the passenger service that has made IND the number one airport in North America for service quality for the past two years.

Chick-fil-A’s location in Civic Plaza means ticketed passengers and members of the general public alike can enjoy its popular fare. A destination in its own right, Civic Plaza features pre-checkpoint shopping, dining and special entertainment events, with artwork and attractions that reflect the character and diversity of Indianapolis and the region. It also serves as the heart of the airport terminal; approximately 20,000 passengers per day pass through it en route to and from the airport’s concourses.
