“We are very pleased to have this new non-stop vacation destination in our market,” explains IAA’s Air Service Director Chris Matney. “Branson Airport’s research indicates that, on average, 200 people a day from the greater Indianapolis area are making an 8+ hour drive to Branson. With this new air service, their travel times will be reduced by 75 percent, meaning they can spend more time enjoying Branson’s many activities.”
Adds Don Welsh, president & CEO of the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association, “Increasing air service in Indianapolis is a crucial tool in driving new business and attracting leisure visitors to the city. The Indianapolis Airport Authority is a key strategic partner in helping us position Indianapolis as a true first-tier destination.”
“Anytime we can improve Central Indiana’s connectivity, it’s a win for Hoosiers,” said Mark Miles, President & CEO of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, an alliance of local CEOs and university presidents focused on economic development issues. “We’re hopeful this is one of many announcements of new carriers and routes that will help Hoosiers move around the country and the world and make Indianapolis a more convenient destination for travel and business.”
With more theater seats than NYC’s famed Broadway, Branson is home to an array of staged shows featuring today’s top musicians, magicians, comedians, actors, and other performers. Branson also features a variety of family-friendly attractions, is near the beautiful Ozark Mountains and lakes, has outstanding golf and outdoor recreational opportunities, great shopping and dining options, and many different types of accommodations for families on a budget as well as adults who seek a more upscale experience.
Matney also noted that Branson AirExpress has a growing network, serving four other markets, in addition to Branson, Houston and Austin: Des Moines, IA (DSM), Shreveport, LA (SHV) and Gulfport-Biloxi, MS (GPT) and Nashville, TN (BNA).
