Standards of Perfection: Fly Perfect Bon Voyage

Goodine’s exhibition, titled Standards of Perfection: Fly Perfect Bon Voyage, displays her fascination with the State Fair’s domestic arts competitions. Her photographs are large, gloriously-colored “cakescapes” as close-up portraits of this little-known but highly-contested craft.

About the Artist: Linda Adele Goodine received her B.A. in Economics, Fine Arts and English Literature from the University of Rochester (NY), her M.S. in Communication Arts from Ithaca (NY) College and her M.F.A. from Florida State University. Specializing in photography and video, Goodine has exhibited her work internationally for over 30 years, including an ongoing body of work called Standards of Perfection, inspired by and related to the Indiana State Fair. She is the Chancellor’s Professor of Art at the Herron School of Art & Design, IUPUI.
