IND Indy 500 Experience Video Still

Category: Temporary

The Indianapolis community joins together during the month of May to celebrate racing and the iconic Indy 500. In 2016 for the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500, the Indianapolis Airport Authority and Indianapolis Motor Speedway worked together to commission a unique Indy 500 experience at the airport. The goal was to customize the Connections piece installed in the pedestrian bridge when the terminal opened, with the sights and sounds of the race

We’ve customized our Connections artwork to feature racing-themed lights and sounds as passengers enter and exit the terminal. Take a moment to listen to Jim Nabors singing, the call to “start your engines” and the goose bump-evoking sound of an IndyCar zooming around the track.

Nothing says “Back Home Again in Indiana” than the Indy 500! Using our Connections artwork, the airport is proud to pay homage to the 100th Running of the Indy 500. Take a moment to listen to Jim Nabors singing, the call to “start your engines” and the goose bump-evoking sound of an IndyCar zooming around the track. Your racing-themed experienced is courtesy of the Indianapolis Airport Authority, bringing you One of a KIND experiences at IND.
