Private Hangar Development

General aviation provides flexibility and convenience for both business and leisure travel needs. Now, the Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) is making it easier to construct in the prime, private hangar development sites available at IAA general aviation airports.

Rental Incentive

Up to one year of free land rental based on the total dollars invested into the construction of a new private-hangar is available.

Primary Term Length Options

Developers have several options related to lease term lengths based on total dollars invested into the construction of a new private hangar:

Third Party Development

The IAA welcomes third party developers wishing to construct and then sublease hangars at any of our general aviation airports. The following policies applies to third party development:

  • Developers planning to sublease private hangars will construct the private hangar per the defined development standards
  • Rental rates for the subleasing operation shall be equal to or greater than comparable IAA T-hangar units for the same aircraft footprint
  • Developers are permitted to sublease private hangar to single entities only
