Indy Airport Welcomes New Frontier Flight to Las Vegas

New flight option expands airport’s reach West

INDIANAPOLIS (March 7, 2017) – Indianapolis travelers now have a new flight option to prove the adage that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Frontier Airlines announced today it will begin weekly service to McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas beginning in July 2017. The airline will add Las Vegas to its current list of destinations departing from Indianapolis, which includes Denver, Orlando and Fort Myers.

The inaugural flight is currently scheduled to depart on July 16, 2017, with flights leaving out of Indy on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays year round.

The addition of the Frontier flight provides another option for travelers seeking to head West, a geographical region the Indianapolis Airport Authority has expanded into over the past year. Alaska Airlines will be joining the roster of Indy airport airlines in May, and bringing with it a long-awaited flight to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport also beginning in May. Southwest Airlines announced early in 2017 it would be adding a nonstop seasonal flight to San Diego from June through August. Allegiant Airlines announced also in January it would be adding a nonstop flight to Austin, Texas year round. Currently Southwest and Allegiant airlines also offer nonstop flights to Las Vegas.

“Our airline partners are investing in Indy, and we’re seeing that with the growth of nonstop flights and destinations,” said Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority. “That investment is what contributes to the historic year we had in 2016, and increases the value the Indianapolis airport provides to the city and the state.”

In celebration of the flight announcement, Frontier Airlines is offering one-way fares from Indy to Las Vegas for as low as $59.*

“Our network continues to expand in markets where people want to fly like Indianapolis,” said Josh Flyr, vice president of network planning with Frontier Airlines. “Customers traveling to Las Vegas from Indianapolis will now have a new low-cost option, and with The WORKS and The PERKS, we offer the best value in U.S. air travel.”
